Company Trajectory
Brand Inception & Domain Registration
The origins of the brand trace back to the registration of the wastelands.net domain on September 2, 1998. During this formative internet era, Gadi began developing utility software, hosting early web pages, and authoring network IRC scripts informally under the Wastelands moniker.
Establishment & Israeli Roots
Wastelands Networking Ltd (Israel) was formally established in August 2011, serving as the technical vehicle for Gadi's software engineering activities, web infrastructure development, and open-source contributions.
UK PLC Incorporation
To formalize and expand consultancy services, Wastelands Networking Ltd. was incorporated in England and Wales on 24 September 2021 as a Public Limited Company (PLC). We pivoted to focus on high-scale web applications, cloud hosting infrastructure, and systems administration for clients in the UK and overseas.
Tokyo Expansion (Wastelands Group)
Wastelands Japan K.K. was established in Tokyo, Japan as a 100% owned subsidiary, expanding our software research and proprietary development focus to East Asia. The Japanese subsidiary specializes in localized digital tools, language education support, and discovery applications.
Why "Wastelands"?
The name represents the unbounded, sometimes chaotic frontier of the digital landscape. To a developer, modern system environments—filled with legacy servers, conflicting APIs, complex scaling requirements, and undocumented libraries—can feel like a sprawling digital wasteland.
Our mission is to navigate these technical frontiers. We build resilient roads and structured order where there is chaos, providing clean design architectures, bulletproof DevOps automation, and high-performance applications that stand the test of time and traffic.
Our Core Philosophy
We are builders, not salespeople. We prioritize architectural integrity, type safety, and runtime robustness over quick fixes and superficial features.
A great app is only as good as the system running it. We design software in harmony with the host Linux servers, database clusters, and container fabrics underneath.
